Passion or Coincidence

I was reading Oswald today and he had a few words I’d like to share:

“Jesus says that there is only one way to develop spiritually, and that is by concentrating on God. ‘Do not bother about being of use to others; believe on Me’ – pay attention to the Source, and out of you will flow rivers of flowing water.”

Too often we concern ourselves with trying to please others that we often forget the purpose of why we want to be accepted in the first place. Too often I concern myself with trying to become more righteous, and I completely miss the point of why I strive to be so. I need to remember my focus.

Note card of the day:

1)      “The only thing that makes you special is the grace in which God has given and made you.” – John Perkins

2)      “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” – Matthew 5.6

3)      Don’t play video games. Be constructive and giving of your time.

4)      “The people who influence us the most are not those who detain us with their continual talk, but those who live their lives like the stars in the sky, and ‘the lilies of the field’ – simply and unaffectedly. They are the lives that mold and shape us.” – Oswald Chambers

One Response to “Passion or Coincidence”

  1. Beatitudes are lovely. So is Oswald. I vote no to video games by yourself until the wee hours of the morning, but yes to video games in fellowship where we get to find Jesus, watch Lightening DO WORK on some baddies and watch Hope figure out who he is!
